Connolly tops comics poll

Billy Connolly has topped a list of the UK's most influential stand-up comics of all time.
Morecambe and Wise came second in the poll for the TV channel Dave, which was compiled by 100 comedians.
Comedy Critic Bruce Dessau, who put the shortlist together said that when Billy Connolly arrived on the comedy scene, he was a pioneer.
"The other comedians were all doing politically incorrect material about their mother-in-laws. Billy Connolly came on in his jeans with his scruffy hair and was just a real person talking about his real life," he said.
