Investigation after man, 20, attacked in Cork

Gardaí in Cork city have launched an investigation, after a 20-year-old man was attacked with a hammer and stabbed last night.
The man was attacked on the Mardyke at around 10pm and suffered a hammer blow to the head and a minor stab wound to the arm.
Gardaí believe the man was attacked by five men who got out of a grey van and approached him.
The injured man was rushed to Cork University Hospital where he was treated for his injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening.
An investigation has been launched but so far no arrests have been made.
